Low Income Families Need Your Help!
We are living in interesting times - whether it’s the school closures making it necessary for parents to stay home; a place of business requiring staff to work from home; or the rationing of some foods in supermarkets – we have all been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic one way or another.
This includes the vulnerable families and seniors who depend on the food security programs provided by the Caldwell Family Centre. We are doing all we can to ensure the Caldwell food bank and meal programs continue to provide the needed food and supplies, while taking all the precautions set out by Ottawa Public Health to ensure the safety of our volunteers and clients.
We need your help. Our food bank is running low of certain staples and we are asking if you can either make a financial donation, allowing us to negotiate a lower price with the stores, or if you could provide any of the following items:
- Frozen meats
- Beans and dry legumes
- Canned soups and stews
- Dried soup mixes
- Dry pasta and pasta sauce
- Canned meat and fish
- Rice
- Cereal
- Fresh eggs
- Fresh fruits
- Milk and cheese
- Fresh vegetables
- flour
- baby food for 6 months plus
- toilet paper
- paper towels
